In the small community of McRae-Helena, Georgia, a sense of sorrow and questions lingered after the unexpected death of a young girl. On the evening of Wednesday, April 1, 2020, emergency services responded to a call from a residence on Collins Street. Inside, they found 14-year-old Shamarion Austin, a female, with a fatal gunshot wound. The preliminary investigation by the McRae-Helena Police Department suggested a tragic accident.
