In the summer of 2020, a fatal shooting in Bainbridge, Georgia, claimed the life of James Lamar Guy Jr., a 35-year-old male. The incident unfolded on a Friday afternoon, just before 2 p.m. on July 17th, in the 800 block of College Street. When Bainbridge Public Safety officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that Guy had been fatally wounded.
Investigators quickly identified a suspect in the shooting as 54-year-old Alfred Lee Moore of Bainbridge. Following the incident, Moore fled the area, leading to a manhunt. With the assistance of the Decatur County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Unit and the Georgia State Patrol, law enforcement was able to track Moore to neighboring Dougherty County, where he was apprehended.
Following his capture, Alfred Lee Moore was arrested in connection with the death of James Lamar Guy Jr. He was subsequently charged with murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Authorities asked for anyone with information regarding the events that led to the shooting to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
