Donny Robinson, a 61-year-old Black male, was a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland, born on October 26, 1963, to Juanita Bacote-Smith and the late Broadus Robinson. Educated in the Baltimore City Public School System, he was known from a young age for his inquisitive and daring nature. As a child, he was known for his curiosity, once taking apart a toaster and dolls to understand how they worked, and another time attempting to 'fly' like Superman with a towel as a cape, a venture that ended with a visit to the emergency room. He worked various jobs throughout Baltimore during his adult life until a disability prevented him from continuing to work.
In 1984, Donny and Jacqueline Brady had two daughters, Kiara and India. Though the couple did not remain together, they maintained a close friendship throughout his life. In 2001, he began a long-term relationship with his fiancée, Martina Singletary, who preceded him in death in March 2022. His family remembers him as a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.
Tragically, Donny Robinson's life came to an end on March 10, 2025. That evening, at approximately 8:29 p.m., Baltimore Police were called to a home in the 1600 block of Balmor Court for a report of a possible deceased person. Upon arrival, officers discovered Mr. Robinson unresponsive, with clear signs of trauma to his body. Medics were called to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
Following an autopsy, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide. The Baltimore Police Department's Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. As of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to come forward and contact the Homicide Detectives or Metro Crime Stoppers.
