In the early morning hours of November 22, 2020, a house party in Bowdon, Georgia, turned tragic, ending the life of 19-year-old Christopher Parker. Parker, a promising basketball star with dreams of playing at the next level, was fatally shot in the chest. The incident occurred on Angela Drive, where an altercation between a group of individuals escalated to gunfire.
Witnesses at the scene provided authorities with a description of the suspect vehicle, a Honda Accord, which was spotted by a Carroll County deputy approximately 30 minutes after the shooting. When the deputy initiated a traffic stop, two of the three occupants fled on foot. The driver, 20-year-old Odarian Bailey of Carrollton, was taken into custody without incident and was initially charged with murder, malice murder, and aggravated assault. Inside the vehicle, investigators discovered a Glock. 40 caliber handgun, two ski masks, and gloves.
The two suspects who fled were identified as 18-year-olds Cameron Allen and Jadarakis 'JD' Caldwell. They remained at large for nearly a month, with law enforcement considering them armed and dangerous. Their run from the law came to an end on December 17, 2020, when they were located and arrested in Atlanta by the U.S. Marshals Service. Social media records indicated that Allen and Caldwell were actively trying to evade capture.
The driver of the vehicle, Odarian Bailey, ultimately cooperated with investigators, providing information that implicated Allen and Caldwell in the shooting. In February 2023, the state reached a plea agreement with Bailey, allowing him to plead guilty to hindering the apprehension of a criminal. In a jury trial, both Cameron Allen and Jadarakis Caldwell were found guilty of multiple charges, including murder. In March 2023, Allen was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus an additional five years. Caldwell also received a life sentence, but with the possibility of parole.
