Daijon Cooks, a 20-year-old Black male, died on December 19, 2020, in Columbus, Georgia, after he was shot while sitting in a car on Kelly Avenue in south Columbus. He was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital at about 8:44 p.m., but by the time officers arrived, he had died.
