Shatavon Hayes, a 35-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 16, 2021, in Albany, Georgia. Hayes, also known by his nickname "Chip Deezy," was found in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds following an altercation in the 300 block of Grant Place. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. His death marked the first homicide in Albany for the year 2021.
