Derico Pritchett, a 37-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on February 11, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. The incident occurred at a shopping center on South Lumpkin Road, where gunfire erupted, leaving Pritchett dead at the scene and several others injured. The shooting took place around 7 p.m., and Pritchett was pronounced dead at 7:20 p.m. The chaotic scene saw three to four other individuals wounded and subsequently taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional for treatment.
