An African American male, 18-year-old Omarie Whatley of Lithonia, Georgia, was fatally shot on the morning of Friday, April 23, 2021. The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. at the Evans Mill Townhomes located on Evans Mill Drive. DeKalb County police responded to the scene to find three individuals who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Of the three victims discovered, Whatley was the only one to succumb to his injuries. Another individual was transported to a local hospital in critical condi ...
