In the late afternoon of May 2, 2021, a burst of violence on a Savannah street corner claimed the life of 22-year-old LaToya Latrice Jones, a female who was reportedly pregnant at the time. Jones was a passenger in a vehicle near the intersection of Jefferson Street and West Victory Drive when gunfire erupted. She suffered from gunshot wounds and was rushed to a local hospital in a private vehicle, but the injuries she sustained proved to be fatal.
