Carlos Harper, a 38-year-old African American man, was tragically killed on May 8, 2021, in Athens, Georgia. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. at the Clarke Garden Apartments on Carriage Lane, a complex off Barnett Shoals Road. Harper was found on the ground with gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Athens-Clarke County Police Department responded to the scene and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
