In the late hours of a Friday evening in May 2021, the life of Hassan Al-Khalil Golden was tragically cut short. The 37-year-old man, a native of the Norcross, Georgia, community, was at Hooligans Tavern, a sports bar located on Holcomb Bridge Road in Roswell. It was there that he was shot multiple times. First responders arrived at the scene to find him with critical injuries and immediately rendered medical aid before he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his wounds and died on May 21, 2021.
Born on the 4th of July in 1983, Hassan was remembered as a true conversationalist who cherished family gatherings and had a love for travel. He was a father, and his bond with his son, Jonathan, was described as being as close as 'two peas in a pod.' A graduate of Norcross Elementary and Summerour Middle School, he had earned his GED and a certification in commercial electricity. Those who knew him recalled his entrepreneurial spirit and his constant endeavor to be a father his son could be proud of.
The investigation into the shooting quickly led to a suspect. Police in Roswell, with assistance from the Johns Creek police department, were able to get a description of the man believed to be responsible. Not far from the scene of the shooting, they located and arrested James Densmore, a 30-year-old resident of Kennesaw. Authorities have indicated that they do not believe the shooting was a random act of violence and have suggested that it may have been drug-related. Densmore was subsequently charged with murder in connection with Hassan Golden's death. Anyone with further information about the incident was asked to contact the Roswell Police Department.
