In the Coldstream-Homestead-Montebello neighborhood of Northeast Baltimore, a young life was cut short on the evening of November 14, 2012. Christopher Briggs, an 18-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on the 2800 block of Fenwick Avenue. The incident was recorded as the 194th homicide in a year that saw 217 such violent deaths in the city.
Emergency services responded to the scene and transported Briggs to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries
