Charles Edward Stanley, a 29-year-old African American male from Decatur, GA, was tragically shot and killed on March 5, 2022, in Covington, GA. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. and midnight on Harvey Wood Drive while Stanley was driving a vehicle reported stolen from a nearby residence. The Newton County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about suspicious activity, where they found Stanley unresponsive in the vehicle. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.
