In the early hours of April 10, 2022, a fatal shooting in Atlanta claimed the life of 32-year-old Alexander Tigner. A Black male from Riverdale, Tigner was found with gunshot wounds outside the Atlanta immigration federal courthouse located at 180 Ted Turner Drive. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into Tigner's death led Atlanta police to identify two suspects.
On May 4, 2022, authorities arrested 41-year-old Earl Robert Wade and 32-year-old Meyoshia Larrysha Gentry in southwest Atlanta. Both were subsequently charged with murder in connection with the shooting. At the time of their arrest, a 1-year-old child was found unharmed in the residence and was placed in the care of grandparents.
Following an investigation, both Wade and Gentry were taken into custody. Wade faced an additional charge of aggravated assault. The motive for the shooting was not immediately released by law enforcement officials. Alexander Tigner was laid to rest on April 30, 2022, following a funeral service in Riverdale.
