On the evening of Saturday, May 7, 2022, a dispute over a firearm tragically cut short the life of 38-year-old Octavius Lamar Jackson in Warner Robins, Georgia. The fatal encounter unfolded around 7:30 p.m. at the Breckenridge Mobile Home Park located on Shannonridge Drive. Jackson, a Black man, was engaged in a heated phone conversation concerning a gun, an argument that would ultimately lead to a physical confrontation and his untimely death.

Concerned for his well-being, the caller went to Jackson's residence to investigate and made a grim discovery: Jackson was dead, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound. Friends of Jackson, who affectionately knew him as 'Red,' were left to mourn a man they described as funny and someone who would always make you smile. They noted he had relocated to Warner Robins years earlier in an effort to get away from a life of violence.
In the days that followed the shooting, the Warner Robins Police Department launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts, which included reviewing video evidence and conducting interviews, quickly led them to a suspect. On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, authorities announced the arrest of 26-year-old Braley Hollis. Hollis was taken into custody and subsequently charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in connection with Octavius Lamar Jackson's death.
