In the late hours of a Wednesday in Columbus, Georgia, a burst of violence shattered the night, leaving a community to grapple with the tragic loss of two young lives. On August 31, 2022, 18-year-old Anton Hamilton was caught in a hail of gunfire that erupted around 11:30 p.m. in the 2001 block of Torch Hill Road. The late-night shooting claimed his life and that of 17-year-old Myshaun Smith, while an 18-year-old, Steven Copeland, was also struck and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
