George Dickie Byrum, a 42-year-old white male, was found dead on July 14, 1976, in Room 23 of the Ocean Shore Motel in Miami, Florida. The discovery was made by Elizabeth Bethel, a chambermaid, who found Byrum's body sprawled on the bathroom floor, with the upper portion lying face-down in the shower stall.
