King Carter, a 6-year-old boy from Miami, Florida, tragically lost his life on February 20, 2016, in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred at the Blue Lake Village apartment complex in northwest Miami-Dade. King was walking across the parking lot to buy candy when he was struck by a stray bullet during a gunfight between rival groups.
