The police arrived at the scene, discovering Lynn's body in the trunk of a car and rescuing Regan Martin from the house.
David Alan Gore was arrested and charged with the murder of Lynn Elliott, as well as multiple other crimes. He was convicted of first-degree murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery. His cousin, Fred Waterfield, was also implicated in the crimes and faced charges.
