Steve Sanders, a former lead singer for the Oak Ridge Boys, died on June 10, 1998, at the age of 45 in Cape Coral, Florida. His death was ruled a suicide by the Medical Examiner's Office of Lee County, Florida. Sanders died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His wife, Janet, informed the police that he had shot himself, and the Cape Coral Police Department confirmed the cause of death as suicide.
