Juan Leon Shanks Sr., a 25-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost his life on January 6, 2014. Shanks was the victim of a drive-by shooting that occurred in the 1150 block of Alta Vista Street. Witnesses reported seeing a white car in the vicinity shortly before the shooting took place. Shanks' body was discovered in a ditch on Jacksonville's Westside, and the incident was immediately classified as a homicide by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
