Jimmy Eugene Barker, a 60-year-old white male from Lake City, FL, died on March 14, 2014, during a DUI checkpoint incident. Barker, who was driving a black 2012 Dodge pick-up truck, was stopped by Lake City Police Officer Michael Lee. During the stop, Barker allegedly pulled a gun on Officer Lee. Despite multiple commands to drop the weapon, Barker did not comply. Officer Lee, fearing for his life and the life of another officer, shot Barker once in the chest, resulting in his death at the scene
