Johnathan F. Ferkin, a 24-year-old male from Lake City, FL, was tragically murdered on August 28, 2017. Ferkin, who was a work-release inmate assigned to the Bridges of Lake City Work Release Center, was found deceased by Officer Rebecca Miles of the Lake City Police Department. Officer Miles was patrolling the neighborhood near NW Lake Jeffery Dr. and NW Ashley St when she heard gunfire. Upon investigating the source of the gunshots, she discovered Ferkin's body in the roadway. It appeared that ...
