Eddie James Owens, a 31-year-old resident of Fort Myers, Florida, tragically lost his life on June 19, 2014. Owens, who was also known by the name Yaz'min Shancez, was a transgender woman. Her body was discovered behind a garbage container at a Budget Truck Rental on Fowler Street in Fort Myers. The circumstances of her death were particularly harrowing, as she was found burned to death.
