Kantral Brooks, a 29-year-old resident of Bradenton, Florida, tragically lost his life on July 9, 2015. The incident occurred during a home invasion in the early hours of the morning. Brooks and his girlfriend, Ester Deneus, were both fatally shot by masked intruders who broke into their home. The couple's five children, aged between 1 and 11, were present in the house at the time of the murders but were unharmed. The intruders threw a brick through the front door windows to gain entry and immediately targeted Brooks and Deneus, shooting them near the door and by the couch, respectively.
The investigation into the murders revealed that Kantral Brooks was the primary target, while Ester Deneus was an unfortunate victim of circumstance. During the search of the victims' home, authorities discovered 14 ounces of powder cocaine and several bags of rock cocaine, indicating that Brooks may have been involved in narcotics, which could have been a motive for the attack. The Bradenton Police Department identified three suspects in connection with the murders: Trey Nonnombre, Jimmie McNear, and Terez Jones. Nonnombre and McNear were arrested shortly after the incident, while Jones remained at large and was considered armed and dangerous.
The suspects faced second-degree murder charges and were held without bond. Despite their arrests, Nonnombre and McNear were uncooperative with the authorities, refusing to provide any information about the crime or the whereabouts of Jones. The investigation continued as police sought to apprehend Jones and gather more evidence to build a solid case against the suspects. The tragic deaths of Kantral Brooks and Ester Deneus highlighted the ongoing issues of violence and drug-related crimes in the community, prompting calls for increased efforts to address these problems and ensure the safety of residents.
