Marie Stempinski, aged 72, passed away on April 29, 2016, in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Her death was the result of a tragic murder-suicide involving her husband, Gerard Stempinski. Marie, who had a mobility impairment due to a hip injury, was shot by her husband before he turned the gun on himself. Gerard, a former St. Petersburg police officer and financial adviser, had been experiencing depression, exacerbated by his own health issues requiring the use of a walking cane.
