On June 22, 2016, Leonard Hankins, a 24-year-old African American male from Fort Lauderdale, FL, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The incident occurred in Oakland Park, near West Cypress Creek Road and Interstate 95, around 4 a.m. Leonard Hankins and three other men had just left a bar named "Cheers" when their vehicle was fired upon.
