Dontae Levaughn Alston, a 30-year-old resident of Jacksonville, Florida, tragically lost his life on November 16, 2016. Alston was fatally shot in his home on Wright Avenue, located in the Pine Forest neighborhood on Jacksonville's Southside. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m., and despite the efforts of responding officers, including a rookie officer on his first day of field training, Alston succumbed to his injuries.
