On December 9, 2016, 22-year-old Saniye Salahutdin was found dead in her Clearwater, Florida apartment. The Clearwater Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Oakbrook Apartments on Nursery Road around 3:30 a.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Salahutdin's body inside the apartment she shared with her mother. She had been fatally shot, and the incident was quickly classified as a homicide.
