Jody Pierce, a 41-year-old man from Bradenton, Florida, was found dead on January 6, 2018, in his apartment at the Gates of Bradenton complex. The Manatee County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a possible shooting around 5 p.m. that day. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Jody Pierce deceased inside his apartment. The Sheriff's Office quickly classified the death as a homicide and launched an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death.
