On August 25, 2024, a tragic incident occurred at the Palmetto Estuary Nature Preserve in Palmetto, Florida. Manuel Escobar, a 32-year-old man from Bradenton, Florida, was found dead in the trunk of a car. The discovery was made by Palmetto police officers who were on patrol at the nature preserve, located at 101 U.S. 41, around 2 a.m.

Investigations revealed that Escobar had suffered multiple gunshot wounds. According to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting did not occur ...
