On July 18, 2018, Sean Stack, a 22-year-old resident of Orlando, Florida, was tragically found shot to death alongside his mother, Cynthia Stack, in their West Jefferson apartment. The investigation revealed that the motive behind this double homicide was financial. Amelia Bissoon, a 25-year-old Chase Bank employee, and her husband, Joshua Ramsawmy, 28, were charged with first-degree murder in connection with the deaths. Bissoon had been involved in fraudulent activities, drafting two $25,000 checks from the account of Cynthia Stack's father, who was a client at the bank and possibly suffering from dementia. These checks were made out to Bissoon's minor son, and the money was subsequently deposited into accounts opened by Ramsawmy.
Cynthia Stack began to question the suspicious transactions involving her father's account, which led to the fatal confrontation. Ramsawmy purchased a gun and used it to kill both Cynthia and Sean Stack. Initially, Bissoon and Ramsawmy denied their involvement, but Bissoon later admitted that her husband had committed the murders. The couple was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, and they remain in the Orange County jail without bond.
