Tavares Phillips, a 28-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on August 6, 2018, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The incident occurred in Tamarac, a suburb of Fort Lauderdale, where Phillips was fatally shot by Ryan Inmon, the father of Phillips' stepchildren. According to reports, Phillips was in the process of putting one of his stepchildren into a car to take them to the hospital for a scheduled surgery when he was shot in the back.
