Bertice Taylor, a 27-year-old woman from Orlando, Florida, tragically lost her life on October 28, 2020. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on Grand Street, between Rio Grande Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail. According to reports, deputies responded to a call about a shooting in the area and found Taylor suffering from a gunshot wound. She was immediately transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

as a drug deal that escalated into violence. The suspect, identified as Bruce Michael Brown, was located hiding inside a home on Grand Street. After an all-night standoff with the SWAT team, Brown was taken into custody around 4:30 a.m. the following morning. He was charged with second-degree murder with a firearm and criminal mischief. Brown remains in the Orange County Jail under a no-bond status.
