Cesar Echaverry, a 29-year-old Hispanic male, was a dedicated detective with the Miami-Dade Police Department. On August 15, 2022, he was tragically shot in the head while attempting to apprehend a suspect involved in an armed robbery in Broward County. Echaverry was part of the Robbery Intervention Detail (RID), a specialized unit tasked with addressing high-crime areas.
