In October of that year, 19-year-old Andre Grice, a Black male, was one of two men shot in the 3800 block of Boarman Avenue. While the other victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Grice survived the initial attack.
For ten years, Grice lived with the consequences of that day. Then, in 2015, he was found deceased at his home on Glen Heights Road. The passage of time did not erase the connection to the violence of his youth. An autopsy was completed in February of 2016, and the Medical Examiner made a significant determination. Andre Grice's death was ruled a homicide, a direct result of the injuries he had sustained in the shooting a decade earlier.
Despite the official ruling that his death was a homicide, the case remains unresolved. According to Baltimore Police, no suspect has been arrested in connection with the 2005 shooting that led to Grice's death years later.
