Patrick H. Lyons, a 30-year-old policeman with the Los Angeles Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 30, 1907. Lyons was on duty that evening, patrolling the Central Avenue corridor just south of Pico Boulevard. Around 11:05 PM, he encountered two highwaymen who had just committed a robbery at the Magnolia Winery located at 1404 Central Avenue.
