Thomas Finnelly, a police officer with the San Francisco Police Department, met a tragic end on November 26, 1911. On that fateful day, Officer Finnelly, along with his colleague Officer Charles Castor, was attempting to arrest a suspect wanted for murder in Veley, Greece. The officers had been informed by an informant that the suspect would be arriving at the Ferry Building in San Francisco. As they moved to apprehend the suspect, the situation quickly escalated into violence.
