On January 14, 1978, Police Officer Jay Warren Jackson, aged 29, tragically lost his life in the line of duty in West Covina, California. Officer Jackson was responding to a call when another patrol officer attempted to stop a vehicle at Orange Avenue and Garvey Avenue South. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, leading to a high-speed pursuit on the eastbound I-10 freeway. Officer Jackson joined the pursuit, which ended when the suspect's vehicle spun out near Holt Avenue and Garvey Avenue ...
