Officer William M. Freeman, a 32-year-old California Highway Patrol officer, tragically lost his life on December 22, 1978, in West Sacramento, California. Officer Freeman, along with his partner Officer Roy P. Blecher, was patrolling Interstate 80 near the Yolo Causeway when they were brutally murdered.
