Cindy Rogers, aged 29, tragically lost her life on August 11, 1980, in Lake County, California. Her death was a result of a brutal murder committed by her husband, Gerald Frank Stanley. The couple had a whirlwind romance, meeting on July 3, 1980, and marrying just four days later on July 7. However, their relationship quickly deteriorated, leading Cindy to file charges against Stanley for sexual assault. Fearing for her safety, Cindy fled to her father's resort in Lake County.
