Joel Michael Davis, a 26-year-old police officer with the East Palo Alto Police Department, tragically lost his life on June 22, 1988. Officer Davis was fatally shot during a foot pursuit of a suspect in East Palo Alto, California. The incident occurred when Officer Davis responded as backup to other officers on a call involving a suspect with a gun.
