Ira Frederick McCurry, aged 45, tragically lost his life on April 30, 1992, in Los Angeles, California. McCurry was a victim of the violent and chaotic events that unfolded during the 1992 Los Angeles riots. On that fateful day, McCurry was shot while attempting to prevent looters from setting fire to a liquor store near his residence in the Green Meadows neighborhood. His brave efforts to protect his community ultimately led to his untimely death.
