Robert Joseph Henry, a 30-year-old police officer from Newport Beach, California, tragically lost his life due to gunshot wounds sustained on March 12, 1995. Officer Henry was on duty when he encountered a suspicious individual near the Newport Harbor Lutheran Church around 4:10 am. The suspect, who appeared intoxicated, presented a military identification card before suddenly opening fire with a concealed handgun, striking Officer Henry.
