On August 1, 1995, Ben Liao, a 16-year-old from San Gabriel, California, tragically lost his life in a brutal drive-by shooting. Ben, along with Cheng Peng and Paul Vu, was traveling on the I-10 freeway near San Gabriel when they were attacked by members of the Asian Boyz gang. The gang mistook them for members of a rival Taiwanese-based gang, leading to the fatal car-to-car attack. All three victims died at the scene.
