Bradley Jay Riches, a 34-year-old Deputy Sheriff with the Orange County Sheriff's Department, tragically lost his life on June 12, 1999. Riches was on routine patrol in Lake Forest, California, when he was ambushed and fatally shot. The incident occurred at approximately 12:52 a.m. as Riches pulled into the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store on Muirlands Boulevard and Ridge Route Drive.
