Alex Ruiz, a 20-year-old resident of Santa Ana, California, tragically lost his life on August 15, 2022, in a drive-by shooting. The incident occurred in the midafternoon on the 1700 block of North Spurgeon Street, an area known for gang activity. Ruiz was with his friend, Andres Ponce, when a Chevrolet Equinox drove by, and the passenger, later identified as Edgar Macias Martinez, opened fire.
