Nicholas "Nick" Samuel Markowitz, a 15-year-old from West Hills, Los Angeles, was tragically murdered on August 9, 2000, in the Santa Ynez Mountains near Goleta, California. His death was the result of a feud over a $1,200 drug debt between his older half-brother, Benjamin Markowitz, and Jesse James Hollywood, a mid-level drug dealer.
