Derek Ochoa, a 17-year-old high school senior from Riverside, California, was tragically shot and killed on January 11, 2006. Derek was walking near his home when a car pulled up beside him. After a brief conversation with the occupants of the vehicle, someone inside began shooting. Derek attempted to hide behind a mailbox, but the shooter exited the car and continued firing, ultimately fatally wounding him.
