On November 9, 2024, Justin Day Girtley, a 36-year-old resident of Frankfort, Kentucky, was fatally shot following an altercation at a home on Flat Creek Road in Franklin County. The incident involved Justin and his father, 60-year-old Steven Girtley. According to Kentucky State Police (KSP), when authorities arrived at the scene, they found Justin Girtley dead from a gunshot wound, while Steven Girtley had fled the residence into a wooded area.
